Liberalism in Turkey

Liberalism was introduced in the Ottoman Empire during the Tanzimat period of reformation.

1911: As a reaction to dictatorial tendencies, the liberal (Hürriyet ve İtilaf Fırkası) is founded.

1913: The party is banned.
